Leadership

Karen Hughey, Founder & CEO
Working much of her career for large companies with many HR specialists, Karen has also been an HR department of one, responsible for everything herself. She knows firsthand how important it is to have experienced partners to help you handle the often-challenging aspects of HR and compliance.
A seasoned HR professional, Karen has worked for organizations such as Chrysler, Chrysler Financial and Optum Rx, and she has also owned and managed a consulting firm and small business. She currently serves as an adjunct professor at Johnson County Community College in the fields of human relations, human resources and business communications.
She received a master’s in labor relations and human resources from Michigan State University and currently lives in Overland Park, Kan., with her husband.

Tony Adrignola
An experienced HR professional and manager for small- to mid-size companies and nonprofits, Tony has leveraged his education as an industrial/organizational psychologist and his experience across many different settings to provide exceptional customer service to all levels of an organization.
With 11 years of HR experience, including two years in equity and diversity, Tony specializes in HR fundamentals and small business management. He also has extensive expertise in project management, recruitment, talent acquisition, on-boarding, succession planning, compensation, employee relations and training. With a bachelor’s and master’s from Missouri State University, he previously served on the board of an environmental nonprofit and currently serves on the HR committee at Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, Mo.

Lisa Ragona
Lisa has over 10 years as an experienced HR professional working for mid to large-size companies, including BrightView Landscapes, LLC and Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Her broad experience includes providing guidance to leadership, on and off-boarding, training and development, HR audit analysis, and employee relations.
Lisa earned her BS in Business Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Human Resources from Illinois State University. She currently resides with her husband and two children in Overland Park, KS. In her free time, Lisa enjoys running, playing golf and spending time with her family.
